now THAT hits the spot!!

As you all may know, I have a slight love/addiction to chocolate. Over the weekend I made some cookies and they were HEAVEN!! I'm going to share the recipe with all you chocolate lovers. They are called "Double Chocolate Chip Cookies"
2 1/4 C unsifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 C butter (softened)
1/4 C sugar
3/4 C brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 pkg (4 serving size) chocolate instant pudding and pie filling
2 eggs
1 (12 oz) pkg chocolate chips

Mix flour with baking soda. Combine butter, sugars, vanilla, and pudding mix in large bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs gradually, add flour mixture. Stir in chips. Batter will be stiff. Drop by teaspoons about 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 min, or until done in middle. I like mine a little softer in the middle, but you can make your own call.

I also made this GREAT dessert for Easter. My friend Bethany had it at her baby shower almost 2 years ago and I FINALLY got the recipe from her and made it. I don't have a name for it so you can call it whatever you want...

You get 1 chocolate cake mix. (I like the Betty Crocker ones)
1 pkg of the small reese's peanut butter cups
1 large container of cool whip
3 4 oz boxes of instant chocolate pudding and pie filling
Make the cake as it says on the box, let cool. Mix the pudding together as directed.
Chop reese's into small chunks.
Tear cake into chunks. Put 1/2 of it into bottom of a deep bowl (It ends up like a truffle, so if you have a bowl for that then it would work better!) Then layer with pudding. Then layer with cool whip. Then layer with reese's.
Repeat layers until everything is gone and your done! It's sooooo delicious. I hope you all enjoy!!

Over the weekend we got together with some of my good friends, Chelese and Bethany. Everytime we get together I forget my camera. We had such a good time eating, buying stuff that Bethany was selling, and playing games...I love these girls!!!

Olivia and Trey entertaining themselves with a toy...Teagan and Kyson were in bed. They are little cuties and they all played together so well.

Oh yes...here we are playing mario cart...we all were awesome! They boys were making fun of us the whole time, but we still kicked butt! After, we played the bowling game and I'm not sure who ended up winning. It was so much fun. Can't wait until next time:)

And on another note, I started Ave on rice cereal this week. Of coarse she just thought it was hilarious...everything to her is sooooo hilarious.

Ha Ha Ha....

the REAL survivor!

I saw this in the "Parents" magazine and thought it was HILARIOUS!! I know our hubby's do a great job with the kids, but come on....sometimes I think they are just clueless:)

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and
3 kids each for six weeks.

Each kid will play
two sports
and either take music
or dance classes.

There is no fast food.

Each man must
take care of his 3 kids;
keep his assigned house clean,
correct all homework,
and complete science projects,
cook, do laundry,
and pay a list of 'pretend' bills
with not enough money...

In addition, each man
will have to budget in money
for groceries each week.

Each man
must remember the birthdays
of all their friends and relatives,
and send cards out
on time--no emailing.

Each man must also
take each child to a doctor's appointment,
a dentist appointment
and a haircut appointment.

He must make
one unscheduled and inconvenient
visit per child
to the Urgent Care.

He must also
make cookies or cupcakes
for a social function.

Each man will be responsible for
decorating his own assigned house,
planting flowers outside
and keeping it presentable
at all times.

The men will only
have access to television
when the kids are asleep
and all chores are done.

The men must
shave their legs,
wear makeup daily,
adorn himself with jewelry,
wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes,
keep fingernails polished
and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks,
the men will have to endure severeabdominal cramps, back aches,
and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or
slow down from other duties.

They must attend
weekly school meetings,
church, and find time
at least once to spend the afternoon
at the park or a similar setting.

They will need to
read a book to the kids
each night and in the morning,
feed them, dress them,
brush their teeth and
comb their hair by 7:00 am .

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information:
each child's birthday,
height, weight,
shoe size, clothes size
and doctor's name.
Also the child's weight at birth,
length, time of birth,
and length of labor,
each child's favorite color,
middle name,
favorite snack,
favorite song,
favorite drink,
favorite toy,
biggest fear and
what they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island
based on performance.
The last man wins only if...
he still has enough energy
to be intimate with his spouse
at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win,
he can play the game over and over
and over again for the next 18-25 years
eventually earning the right
To be called Mother!

Fun on Easter

We had a really fun Easter. It makes me a little sad though knowing that it will be our last one with the family. We went out to Grandma Willson's and had a fabulous dinner and an egg hunt. The kids had a blast. Then went to Grandma Chambers and did the same, yes we ate dinner twice within 2 hours of each other, it was great!!

We got up and went to church. Trey in his Easter outfit...and sporting the
"comb-over"

Avery in her pretty dress and massive hair bow.

Heidi and Mary put together a scavenger hunt for the kids. They loved it! They had to run all over the farm and find clues.

Trey running to get his treats.

Trey showing us what the Easter Bunny brought him. Some motorcycle toys, bubbles, clothes and of coarse his favorite, a remote control helicopter. Actually, I think Jeremy was more excited for it.

Eating his breakfast....candy.

Then we headed to another hunt with the other cousins. This is Kambria, she's so sweet. She would help find eggs for the other kids. We love her!

More eggs...

Kambria, Blakley, Trey, and Talia.

Avery fascinated with the kids squealing and running all over the place.

It was a good day. Thanks for everyone who helped out. We had a good time!

...GoTta lOvE BoYs!!...

Whenever it rains we tell Trey that the worms come out and play. He just LOOOVES to hold them. This morning he woke up and of coarse the first thing he says is "Mom it's raining, I will get a bucket for my worms" He comes back and is holding a container from my tupperware drawer. And he says "Hurry, I go outside and get some worms" So I opened the door and he runs out there in the pouring rain, no shoes, no jacket (I know, mother of the year right?) and starts grabbing as many worms as he can. It was so funny....

And speaking of "Mother of the Year" I went and checked on Avery in her swing and this is what I found...

Yep, she slid right out of it. I guess those seat belts are there for a reason:)

And she's really trying to crawl...not quite there yet.

Thumbs up mom!

We had a relaxing day at Grandma Chambers today for General Conference. It's always fun to get together and hang out with the family. We ate a yummy breakfast, and then took the kids over to the park and let them fly kites and run around. Then we headed out to Grandma Willson's for the 2nd session. We celebrated her birthday and relaxed a little more! Here are some pics of the day...

Here is our dog Halo. She loves going to parks. She chased the kites and was shedding all over everyone. Her winter fur is very unattractive.

Cherie and Tyler flying kites

Little Miss Avery enjoying the cold/sunny/windy day.

Of coarse Trey had to have his super awesome sun glasses.

Dad and Trey flying their kite.

Mom and Avery

Great Grandma Willson's Birthday. Skyla and Payzlee of coarse helping her blow out the candles

And of coarse my ALL time favorite pic. Avery and Great Grandpa Willson. Now if you look at them closely, you will see they look ALOT alike.

The resemblance kills me!
