Over the Hill and a Few Gray Hairs

Sad to say I turned 27 on Monday the 27th....I know, that is getting to darn close to 30, BUT, it was a good day. Gone are the days where you would go out and blow your paycheck shopping on your birthday (actually, that was everyday for me)I remember when me and my roommates, (or jeremy when we were dating), would go and spend the whole day swimming, laying out, shopping, eating, shopping, just pretty much doing nothing. Now, I am just as satisfied when my sweet hubby cleans the house for me, changes all the diapers, and makes me dinner on my birthday. There's only so much you can do when you've got kids, and besides, it fell on a Monday and that is so boring itself. I did have fun. Jeremy got me an Ipod for Christmas and I haven't gotten around to put music on it, so he stayed up late and put a TON of songs on it for me and my gym workout was fantastic! Who knew it could be so much fun with music. Then me and my besties (sister, mom, and sis-in-law) went to lunch...good stuff! Then I took a nap, then my hubby came home and we ate dinner, then went to the mall and shopped til we dropped! Oh how I love to shop. Thanks Jeremy for the fun day. Oh, and he got me a book. He told me it was for my "inner-nerd" Ha!

7 Peaks, Fireworks, Rodeo, and Poop!

We've had a really busy but fun week. On Saturday we went to 7 Peaks for the day. It was a blast! I haven't been there for about 6 years. It was so much fun. The kids loved it. Trey loved the slides and I couldn't get Avery out of the wave pool. Sunday we headed to WSU for the annual fireworks. I think it was the first year that I can remember that it rained. It was fun. They kids played and ran around. Monday night we went to the Rodeo. Trey LOVES this! He just loved the bullriding. He really could care less about the rest, and of coarse the bullriding isn't until the very end, but he LOVED it! And then they did the dirt bikes. When they went over the jumps Trey couldn't stop talking about it. It was a lot of fun! Here are some pics of the events

And here is what I found this morning when I went to get Avery to go to the gym.

Now if anyone knows of any good cleaner to get that out of the carptet PLEASE let me know!

A Work in Progress

Our basement has been nothing but a HUGE pain in our butts! We knew when we bought it, all the hard work we would have to do. When me and Jeremy found our house, we pictured ourselves living in it, fixing it up, making it our own. For some reason, all the people that have looked at our house keep coming back with the same stupid reasons why it's not going to work..."we love it,but we need the extra room downstairs" "we love it, but it's still too much work for us to finish" "we love it, but it's just not in our budget or schedule to finish it"....AAAH! Oh, and what makes me MORE mad is the fact that it's in the contract that the basement will be 100% finished when they move in, so really, what are they crying about. Why can't someone just come and get the big picture in their minds like we did. I guess they can't until it's all the way done! Over the past 5 years (yes, it has taken us THAT long) we really didn't stress the idea of having it finished, only because we didn't need all that space right away. (And plus, in case you didn't know, money DOES NOT grow on trees) Then after my kids were born I thought how nice it would be to have it done and to have more room for the kids to play, and I guess since our house is on the market, it has to be done. So right now we are racing to get it finished in the limited time we have. Jeremy's work schedule doesn't really allow him to just be able to come home after work, like most people do at 5, and work on it into the evening. He doesn't even get off work until 7 and yes, he does come home in the middle of the day from 12-2:30, but that doesn't give him very much time....soooooo, we really only have Saturdays to work on it. The sheet rockers finally finished Friday, and on Saturday thanks to family, (uncle Shayne), we were able to get in painted. It's amazing the huge difference a little paint will do. These are some of the pics I took right after we painted....I know it's a mess, don't be scared:)

The view from the family room to the hallway.

The bedroom

The bathroom...that's a tub in the back, it's covered.

The laundry room coming downstairs, sorry the pic is horrible.

And the family room. Seriously, who wouldn't love this! That is a cute little fireplace in the corner. I must be the only person still alive that loves all the cute authenticity of old houses, like, the cute skeleton key door handles, and arch ways,....whatever, they don't deserve it if they can't appreciate it!

Let Freedom Ring!

I LOVE THE 4TH!! It is my absolute favorite! The whole month is so much fun. We started out with the Farr West parade. My niece Skyla was in it, she was dancing, and she was great! Heidi sat on the back of the truck and helped them. When Taytem saw her mom she hurried and hitched a ride. Trey loved the parade. He especially loved the big trucks. We then went to Farr West days and let Trey play some games and run around. Then is was time for naps...for all of us:) Afterwards a bbq with the family, then off to the fireworks. It was such a fun day. I love spending time with my family, especially my hubby. It brings back so much fun memories of us when we were dating. Here are some pictures of the day. Also, there are some random ones of the first of the week. These pictures are in no particular order.

This one is a the nature center earlier in the week.

This is Avery's new thing, climbing on all the furniture. I miss the days when she just layed there and didn't move.

The big trucks were his favorite!

Avery was not sure what to think about the parade.
